the labor..*pending post*

it hs been a while...keeping up wth my cutie pie lutfiyah sakeena evrydy..seems like 24hrs is nt enough..everydy is a blessing n full wth surprises n laughter n lotsa love..the little, cute face nvr fail to bring smiles to my face..

i hv to start writing back..i wnt to talk about the labor process..yes,the experience i'll nvr forget for the rest of my life..ppl call it labor for very good reasons, ohh yessss..till then..this post is a reminder for myself to keep on writing n tht i owe myself some polishing in writing skills..russstyyyyyy man!

***********************and here goes the story****************************

it was my daily check-up wth prof gynae on tht day (8th March 2012). i hv planned some questions to ask him about my soon-to-be labour mainly about our plan to meet our lil darling earlier..so,we were wondering if it is possible n feasible and also the after effects if the procedure is done and in what way will it affect me n my lil precious...and not to my surprise, he said 'yes, why not!'. ohh yeahh, he is one ever positive man n nothing is a problem to him n tht's why we never doubt any of his actions and decisions..from his explanation, i can tell tht the procedure is just a normal one tht is done for early labour which is to induce labour using some kind of drugs n the contraction wl be doubled from normal labour. this is because the drugs wl trigger contractions faster n as u woman knows, it does come wth severe pain and the rest is history. Little did i know that the most frightful moment is yet to come. my gynae said tht the procedure can only be done if he is able to check the condition of my cervix n then to determine whether it is ready for labour. he inserted two fingers through my cervix and i jumped a bit n my heart skipped. it was tough to do because i was not relax at all..yeah,i was so embarassed n not able to calm myself, too shocked i guess..the most icky moment in my life.period.

i had a pillow talk wth mak that night n she asked whether i am that sure wth my decisions to go through early labour n i said of course because i need people (read: u,mak) to take care of me during my first week of confinement..as a young mother who r clueless of how to deal wth postpartum hormones n what more to deal wth a delicate lil one, a strong support group (read: my family) is what i need to face the most crucial time in my life tht i'm yet to experience

and so the day has come for me to face the battle..i was asked to check-in at the hospital so that my gynae could get me checked and briefed me about the procedure. thanks to ayah who was able to company me to the hospital until zawji arrived. we arrived around 10.30 a.m..i changed to the hospital attire and was attached to the CTG machine for contraction monitoring purposes. zawji arrived at noon as well as siti..they were there with me until mak, kak yu and her children joined us..thank goodness we decided to get a private room as it was packed wth my family..what more could i asked at tht time than to be with all of them,my ever supportive backbones..and so, i had series of minor contractions which i couldn't feel at all. my prof gynae only got in at about 3 p.m. and briefed me about the procedure.blablabla and inserted two giant-sized pills into my cervix to get the contractions going and oh boyyy! it really got me after an hour. it felt tht my backbone is kinda prickly and the 'zappy' feel of the contractions were at times, unbearable. my zawji, who was ever so accomodating and caring managed to walk me on the aisle outside the ward so that the labour process could be easier, as per advised by prof gynae..i managed to do three rounds of walking and climbing up and down the stairs while carrying tremendous pain.

Finally, the frequent contractions came with a gush of blood and water, indicating that the water had broken. after a plea of help and endless 'help me!' to the nurses, i was brought to the labour room around 8.45 p.m. i was too miserable and focus on the pain that i was being bitter to others. yes, i was bitter, said zawji..i didn't want to get strapped with the CTG machine and i refused to be consoled..hohoooo..blame the hormones and the pain! at the labour room, i was left alone while the nurses were preparing things for my delivery..i was screaming for help because i could feel that the baby was really cominggg. the nurses came to check my condition and to their surprise it was already 8 cm! they let me inhale some kind of gas to ease the pain and let me tell you, it did wonders! the pain was all gone and i'm in wonderland....then, i had to wait for prof gynae to reach hospital (he was at home at that time because he predicted that i won't be delivering until midnight or the next morning). when he arrived, the nurses asked me to take deep breaths and i was told to release the gas inhalation. they taught me how to push the baby out and after a few pushes, my lil one was savely arrived. alhamdulillah! but, the drama didn't end there..lutfiyah apparently got strangled with the umbilical cord and they had to quickly cut it to prevent her from getting drown. zawji was so impressed with the job well done by the gynae.well, he was a prof btw..lutfiyah was given a pat at the back for being a strong strong girl by the gynae. He wasn't expecting tht because the CTG reading was normal and for that, u r one tough baby girl and u hv proven us right in this 8 months! good on you darling and we are your proud parents ever :)

a long hiatus....it's already 37 weeks!

Assalamualaikum wbth..praise be to Allah SWT...

Yeaahhhh..it's game on from now on..as my prof gynae said,'it could be anytime soon..people nowadays tend to deliver earlier then the due date'..well, actually, I am hoping tht I could deliver early as the whole family wl be available during school holiday. This is really a big deal for me as I just couldn't imagine myself at home just wth ayah n mr hubby during the first week of confinement.I need more experienced people (and motherly) to look at me and the baby.To have a helper for a month for Rm3k is just too much for both of us.what more I just couldn't stand being around strangrs at my own home..huhuu..I'm just hoping tht I can 'brpantang' on my own wth mak, ayah, siti n maybe a masseur. Thus, with all the reasons above, I will most probably choose to get induce for early labour, whichis exactly on my 38 weeks, friday,9 march..I've discussed ths matter wth prof gynae n he said tht my condition n the baby's condition r jst fine for early delivery as we r both healthy n ready for the battle..I askd him about the after effect of being induced n he said the contraction pain wld be double frm the ordinary labour/contraction.I didn't hv any idea wht I hv got myself into n jst wishing tht whatever pain tht i'll experience wl nt b as bad as i may seem. Positive thinking! Whatever it is,i'll go through it,wth little pain or double or even triple pain..rabbi yassir wala tu'assir YA ALLAH...

Ya Allah,I humbly ask ur love n kindness tp mke ths journy easy n smooth fr me n the baby for only U can make it happens.ameen YaRabb~

Will update once it is all over[the delivery n mybe berpantang]..less pain,painful or very painful?for u I will my baby.insyallah :)

See ya ltr!

u tickle me

my sweetheart,

do u know that u have the habit of tickling me? u tickle me when i'm studying, when i sleep and even harder when i feel extremely hungry..well, i'm not going to blame u coz i guess u feel the same way too umi loves the tickling sensation and it feels that u r trying to communicate with me..sometimes, i will giggle over ur tickling now, i can talk to u often as u can hear clearly now.. u also can smell things and u r more sensitive to lights..my tummy is growing bigger as u r expanding n growing fast!~ i have nothing to complain because it's the joy of being a pregger

* umi is struggling to finish her LD assignment..it feels like ages doing this task......i rather write to u my baby

the flying time

dear sweetheart, umi prays that u r safe n sound n grows healthily in my nurturing womb.i'm trying my best to make u feel comfy n give u the best nutrition that u could have for ur growth.i know u r a fighter n a strong man..umi loves u so much..thank you for keeping up with my mood swings that sometimes can make u feel uneasy inside..i know it'll affect ur emotions too..but u know,i can't bear it at times..it's just too much to handle. i've become more sensitive, feel tired easily and my back pain can make me feel lil bit uncomfortable n the amount of workload that i've to endure right nw had resulted in my breakdown last couple of days..at times like this, i long for your tickle that can make me laugh..i just love feeling of it.i'm really sorry sweetie pie.umi promise that it won't happen again.i want to be healthy, happy n glowing for u will be like that too..

abi takes care for umi with all his heart.he always make sure tht umi is happy and he wants umi to have the best.he helps a lot with the house chores and grocery shopping. he is truly loving, caring and compassionate.he is the best thing happen to me before u my baby, i just want u to know that u r the greatest gift that we've ever had and we thank Allah for sending u to us..having the chance to have u n feeling this experience is priceless and i wouldn't want to compensate it with anything else.

on the other note, umi has been gaining more weight due to excessive eating..hahaa..i eat in a bigger portion and need frequent munching..owhh,that makes umi worried a lil bit..sikit worry coz i don't want to gain unnecessary fat because of this habit. moreover, i dont't want to look like a penguin or walk like a wombat ( i now walk like a tortoise n climbing up to UNSW library is a tough job darl)..anyhowww, i like to call that cardio-exercise,to make your heart pumping hard n strong..i need to be fit for myself n for ur sake my love

thinking too much..hillarious!...

salam all..

it just popped put of my head to couple of months before when i feel a bit uneasy with my body..my breasts kinda sore and it got bigger and more supple..i told mr hubby about it and couldn't help it but getting worried about it all the time..little that i know, mr hubby was much more worried than me..he even browsed the Internet to find information about it and too my surprise,he even suggested that it could be a sign of breast cancer!!~how bizzare! nau'zubillah...it is just too out of the world that i strongly believe that it is totally wrong..

the out-of-state-of-mind incident and our pointless anxiousness at that time made me laugh inside every time i thought about it..a news that we thought could be the worst thing ever happened to me turned out to be a much awaited news,a happy one for us there's someone growing inside my womb and i just felt on top of the world once the GP confirmed that..what a feeling!! subhanallah~

i had mixed feelings and quickly told Mak,Ayah,Ma,Abah and my siblings about it.they were overwhelmed with happiness and Mak even screamed with excitement on the phone! hahahaa..that's my Mak~I told Mak that I wasn't sure that how on earth I would cope with this pregnancy, the studies and being away from the family..she just told me to be calm and take it easy. she also said that the pregnancy will be easy as long as I take good care of myself and ensure precautions in the early months..'don't lift anything heavy, eat healthily, try not to get stress, take things easy and always consult my GP if anything concerns me' said Mak..after the long conversation with her, deep inside me, i always knew that help, support and comfort is just a phone call away and whatever it is, i will be able to face through the phases in life and pregnancy is just one of it that i should embrace, appreciate and be thankful about. Thank you Allah for giving me the opportunity to have this experience that is just wonderful and beautiful..I am very grateful for the smooth flowing pregnancy..i had no morning sickness, good appetite and I don't encounter difficulties to move around and be active throughout this 4 months pregnancy. Alhamdulillah

talking about morning sickness,mr hubby had some sickness sensation few days ago..he felt like vomiting one night and it happened several times..hehehehe..anyway, he didn't really puke and I Thank God for that..pity him

till then,
Adieu

of 15 weeks and 5 days~

the timing is a bit off as your truly is actually 15 weeks pregnant and not 13 weeks as she thought she is..the ultra-sound check-up made it confirmed that the fetus in my womb is now growing healthily and constantly doing somersault seeing him/her in the womb was something indescribable..it was all awe to see the little creature inside my womb and the feeling  is just unbelievable~i kept on telling syazwan that i still couldn't believe that i am carrying a life inside my womb..my belly has expanded considerably normal as it supposed to be..to my surprise, i've been losing 1 kilo..well,i think it's due to Ramadhan and doc is fine with that..nothing to be worried about and as to the wind problem that i still having now, i should eat frequently in small portion and keep it in time, like 6 times per day as advised.i do feel much hungrier than before, wanting to eat more than usual and i could gobble anything although i just had a decent lunch or dinner.seriousllyyy  Having healthy meals and eat regularly is a must for any pregnant woman, but i'll not let my desires over rule my necessity..eat as you need not as u want..and i've read somewhere that there's no such thing as eating for 'two'..Hence,i always try to keep it modest and swap it with lots of fluids, be it water orange mango juice from Coles and maybe some fruits that is in season..i like little mandarins and kiwi at the mo..cherry is out of season already..huhuuu~Thank goodness syazwan is there to keep my on track and ensure tht i do have my daily intake of milk which is mostly important

my cravings have been in control and luckily, i always crave for something that i can cook by myself which is awesome! meaning no eating out frequently and i can make my own hearty, nutritional meals with lots of veggies to go with it no matter what meal is that..yess,i eat lotsssss of veggies..yummeh!! sian mr hubby, who is not a big fan of veggie, that had to comply with my diet..at least it is healthy kan and therefore, i think i have managed to make him 'rabbit' like myself, though not as die hard as i am to list some of my cravings, just for my note in future of how much i've eaten and how rajin i am to cook all these dishes...hahah..well,asam pedas ikan tenggiri, rendang, nasi ayam, strawberry shake, kuah kacang, karipap daging n heaps of fries..so,there you go what goes into my tummy  i'm sure there's still a lot more and it is too many to remember that i couln't pen it down..just a few significant ones that i remember making tht effort to bersusah payah cari bahan sampai paddy's...

well, i think that's all for now..looking forward to the next check-up on nov 2nd at RHW  n to see my baby on nov 8th..hope that all is well..we are overwhelmed with the well wishes from people once syazwan posted up the ultrasound pic in FB..thanks heaps family and friends

a windy problem

as literal as it speaks,i've been developing this windy problem since i was a teenager.it is due to improper meal intake and countless skipping of meals done which has worsen the situation from time to time. as a result, my body is not anymore resilience as it used to be..i had to take care of myself by eating on time..brekkie,lunch and dinner..as much as i can...well,snacking always help if i didn't have time to get a proper meal plus drinking lotsa water..

due to my current condition, (yours truly is 6 weeks pregnant which is 4 weeks after conception),the windy problem has gotten from worse to worst..i had no idea why and what cause this to happen..i had been breaking fast with rice and decent condiments that serves my tummy to the full, drinking plenty of water and had a good supper and sahur (hmm,i did skip one or two..alarm didn't trigger our ear).i had constant difficulties to keep my wudhu' during prayer times and i fart a lottttttttttttt..let alone burping..funny thing is, mr hubby also develop the same kind of symptoms.he's having a fair share i guess..hahaaa...Hence, i've googled about this matter and found some tips to avoid me farting, bloating and burping without nobody's business..

How can I get some relief?

Here is a list of ideas which may help you get some relief from the pain and amount of gas you are experience.

  • Eat regularly, but choose several small meals throughout the day rather than less frequent, larger meals
  • Eat and chew slowly and avoid talking or gulping while you’re eating
  • Choose to drink between meals instead of during meals, and when you do have a drink, drink from a glass (without gulping) as opposed to a bottle or a straw.
  • Avoid fizzy/carbonated drinks
  • Put your legs up to relieve pressure from your abdomen in order to assist digestion
  • Sit upright while you’re eating or drinking
  • Avoid wearing any tight clothing or belts, choose comfortable and loose clothing
  • Avoid chewing gum or sucking on hard lollies
  • Avoid artificially sweetened products and drinks (often in diet drinks)
  • Exercise can help – try a brisk walk around the block after a meal for around 20 minutes or so
  • Peppermint tea is safe to take and may provide relief
  • If you have a tendency to be anxious or tense, learn some relaxation techniques or take up a activity like pilates (which is also good for core strength) or yoga.

Slower digestion can also result in constipation, so it’s a good idea to prevent this from happening. You can avoid constipation by increasing fibre intake slowly and drinking more water. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegies help too. Some fibre supplements can be used during pregnancy if you need extra help, but speak to your doctor, midwife or pharmacist first.

Foods to avoid

Some foods are known for making you more windy, so see if you can find out which of these may be causing problems for you or start a process of elimination – you might like to keep a food journal in order to spot the culprit(s). The sugar fructose is found in some of the below and something to be avoided

  • Apples
  • Asparagus
  • Beans & other legumes
  • Broccoli
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Cabbage
  • Cauliflower
  • Milk or cheese
  • Onions
  • Peaches
  • Pears
  • Prunes

Fatty and fried foods can slow down digestion, so try and avoid it as best you can.

* i need to seek advice from the doctor in the next appointment of what should i do and how to overcome this..maybe some supplement will do me a justice..

*my stomach feels so uncomfortable just now that i burst out my fart and it was a hell louddd!..i hope nobody notices that as a fart..LOL! i am in the library by the way..speaking of public embarassment..pftttt...

and it begins...the happy beginning
